Chiswick Carpet Cleaners Terms and Conditions

Carpet cleaning service terms and conditions documentThese terms and conditions set out the basis on which Chiswick Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial cleaning services. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing our operatives to begin work, you agree to be bound by these conditions. They are intended to give clarity on the service process, payment arrangements, cancellations, liability limits, waste handling, and the legal framework that applies to all carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, rug cleaning, and related stain treatment services provided under the Chiswick carpet cleaning name.

In these terms, references to “we”, “us”, or “our” mean the service provider, and references to “you” or “the customer” mean the person requesting or authorising the cleaning service. The wording is designed for general use and should be read alongside any written quotation, booking confirmation, or service note issued before the appointment. If any part of a quotation or service note differs from these terms, the written quotation or service note will apply only to the extent of that difference.

By proceeding with a booking for carpet cleaning in Chiswick or any related service, you confirm that you are authorised to enter into the agreement for the premises or items to be cleaned, that you have disclosed relevant information, and that you understand the service is delivered subject to the limitations set out below.

Booking and payment terms for carpet cleaning servicesBooking process begins when you request a quotation, make an enquiry, or ask us to attend a property. Any estimate given before inspection is based on the information you provide and may be adjusted if the actual condition, material, access, or area size differs from the description supplied at booking stage. A booking is not confirmed until we have accepted the job and, where required, received any deposit or pre-authorisation specified in the quotation.

You must provide accurate details about the items or areas to be cleaned, including approximate size, material type, level of soiling, prior treatments, accessibility, parking restrictions, and any known damage, staining, or special handling requirements. This is especially important for delicate fibres, antique rugs, water-sensitive materials, and upholstery that may react differently to standard cleaning methods. If you fail to disclose material facts that affect the work, we may revise the price, alter the method, or refuse the job if proceeding would be unsafe or impractical.

We may contact you to confirm appointment times, access arrangements, and any preparatory steps required before arrival. Our team will normally aim to attend within the agreed time window, but arrival times are approximate and may be affected by traffic, previous jobs, weather, or other operational factors. Where access is delayed or prevented by circumstances within your control, the appointment may still be charged as a wasted visit or late cancellation in accordance with these terms.

Customer responsibilities and liability limits in cleaning servicesPayments for Chiswick Carpet Cleaners services must be made in the manner agreed at the time of booking or on the invoice issued after completion. Unless otherwise stated in writing, payment is due immediately upon completion of the service. We may accept bank transfer, card payment, cash, or another agreed method, but we are not obliged to accept every form of payment in every case.

If a deposit is requested, it is normally used to secure the appointment and may be non-refundable in the situations described under cancellations and failed access. Any remaining balance must be settled in full after the work is finished and before departure unless we have expressly agreed credit terms in advance. If you do not pay on time, we reserve the right to charge reasonable administration costs, suspend further work, and recover any sums due through lawful means.

Quoted prices are based on the service requested and the information available at the time. Additional charges may apply where extra labour, repeated stain treatment, specialist equipment, unusual contamination, furniture moving, or extended drying support is required. We will normally explain any such increase before proceeding, but if the need becomes apparent only once work has started, you agree that a fair adjustment may be made to reflect the extra time, materials, and operational costs involved in the cleaning service.

Cancellations and rescheduling must be notified as soon as possible. If you cancel or rearrange with sufficient notice, we will normally try to offer an alternative appointment without penalty. However, where the booking has been reserved specifically for you, where staff have already been dispatched, or where equipment and materials have been allocated, we may retain all or part of any deposit or charge a cancellation fee that reflects our reasonably incurred losses.

If you cancel at short notice, fail to provide access, are not present when required, or ask us to leave before the agreed work is completed, the visit may be treated as a wasted appointment. In such cases, you may be charged for the full or partial call-out, and any refund will be limited to amounts that we have not already incurred in labour, transport, preparation, or consumables. We are not responsible for any inconvenience caused by your change of plans where the cancellation arose from circumstances within your control.

We may also need to reschedule or withdraw an appointment where safe or effective cleaning is not possible due to adverse weather, emergency repairs, unsafe working conditions, equipment failure, or inaccurate information provided by you. In those circumstances, we will use reasonable efforts to rearrange the service, but we will not be liable for indirect losses arising from the changed appointment, provided we act reasonably and in good faith.

Waste handling and compliance rules for cleaning servicesService standards and customer responsibilities apply throughout the appointment. You must ensure that the work area is reasonably accessible, that fragile items and valuables are removed or protected, and that we are informed of any known risks before cleaning starts. Where necessary, you should secure pets, enable access to water and electricity, and advise us of any alarm systems, restricted areas, or building rules that may affect attendance or performance.

We will use reasonable skill and care in performing the cleaning services. However, carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, and upholstery cleaning may produce variations in appearance, texture, or drying time depending on fibre type, age, prior wear, chemical sensitivity, and existing damage. Some stains may be resistant to treatment or may reappear after cleaning due to underlying residues or previous attempts to remove them. We do not guarantee complete stain removal, colour restoration, or identical results across all areas or items.

Where a fabric, carpet, or surface is fragile, unstable, colour-sensitive, over-wet susceptible, or previously damaged, we may decline to clean it, reduce the scope of treatment, or recommend a safer method. If you insist on proceeding against our recommendation, you do so at your own risk and accept that our liability will be limited in accordance with these terms. This applies equally to specialist cleaning assignments, delicate furnishings, and any item where the risk of harm is higher than normal.

Liability is limited to direct loss or damage caused by our proven negligence, breach of contract, or failure to use reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law. Subject to that, we are not responsible for indirect, consequential, or economic losses such as loss of business, missed income, loss of opportunity, or inconvenience.

We are not liable for pre-existing defects, hidden damage, structural issues, worn fibres, unstable dye, weak seams, glued backing failure, mould, water ingress, or deterioration that becomes visible during or after cleaning where such matters were not caused by us. Likewise, we are not responsible for items left in the cleaned area unless damage is caused directly by our negligence. If you do not tell us about pre-existing conditions, you accept that any resulting issues may be outside our responsibility.

Governing law and contract terms for carpet cleaning servicesWaste regulations and disposal rules apply to all waste generated by the service. We will handle wastewater, spent materials, used pads, and cleaning residues in accordance with applicable environmental and waste management requirements. You agree not to request disposal of prohibited waste through our service, including hazardous substances, needles, bodily fluids, chemicals, or any material requiring specialist licensing unless we have expressly agreed and are legally permitted to do so.

Where our work produces recoverable waste or contaminated residue, we may collect and remove it for lawful disposal or use an approved wastewater management process. You must not interfere with our disposal procedures or instruct us to release waste in a manner that would breach any legal duty. If your property has specific site rules, managed premises requirements, or permit conditions affecting waste handling, you must tell us before the appointment so that we can decide whether the job can proceed safely and lawfully.

We may decline to proceed if the proposed work would create an unacceptable waste-handling risk or if the cleaning location lacks suitable facilities for lawful disposal. Any extra cost caused by special disposal requirements, restricted access, or contamination beyond normal domestic soiling may be added to the invoice where justified and reasonably explained.

Complaints and cure If you believe the service has not been carried out with reasonable care and skill, you should notify us within a reasonable time after completion and allow us a fair opportunity to inspect the issue and, where appropriate, remedy it. We may offer a return visit, partial refund, or other reasonable solution depending on the circumstances. This does not affect your statutory rights, which remain in force.

Force majeure We are not in breach of these terms if we are prevented from performing our obligations by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, fire, flood, strike action, transport disruption, public emergency, power failure, or government restrictions. If such an event occurs, we will try to rearrange the appointment or agree another suitable solution, but we will not be liable for delay or failure caused by the event.

Data and records Any personal information supplied in connection with a booking will be used for administration, communication, invoicing, and service delivery purposes, in line with applicable data protection laws. We may keep records relating to quotations, appointments, invoices, complaints, and service notes for legitimate business and compliance reasons. You should ensure that information you provide is accurate and kept up to date.

Changes to these terms We may update or amend these conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time your booking is accepted will normally apply to that booking, unless a later written variation is agreed by both parties. If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

Governing law These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, whether contractual or non-contractual, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law requires otherwise. By engaging Chiswick Carpet Cleaners, you acknowledge that the agreement is formed and interpreted under this legal framework.

Nothing in these terms affects your rights as a consumer under applicable legislation, where those rights cannot be waived or restricted by contract. If you are a business customer, you confirm that you are authorised to contract on behalf of your organisation and that the service is being obtained for lawful purposes and in accordance with your internal policies. These carpet cleaning terms are intended to be practical, fair, and consistent with ordinary service expectations.

For the avoidance of doubt, the customer remains responsible for ensuring that the service requested is suitable for the item or area being cleaned. If you have concerns about delicacy, prior damage, or treatment compatibility, you should raise them before the appointment so that we can decide whether a modified method is needed. By booking our carpet cleaning service, you confirm acceptance of these conditions and agree that any variation must be agreed in writing.

Cleaning my home was a job I used to enjoy, but ill health meant that I couldn't get done everything that I wanted to. My friend suggested I hire a cleaning company, and I chose to call ChiswickCarpetCleaners. I expected the cleaners to complain at my high standards, but it turned out they were just as fussy about the quality of their job as I was! It's good to have cleaners who care about what they do, and it means I always get a service of the highest quality. Very impressive!

Don't think I've ever been this impressed with a service before, certainly have not had the desire to leave a review. Still, ChiswickCarpetCleaners have been really helpful in the last few weeks and I wanted to show my thanks for the help which they've provided. They've managed to turn what was a bit of a stressful period into a cool and calm one. Can't think of a single complaint I would make and I would encourage everyone who is looking for this kind of service to get in touch with them and see what they have to offer.
